Making a Resume

Fill in the questionnaire and submit it to have your resume professionally designed and written. Before you fill in the questionnaire, collect the following information:

  1. Personal Information. Include name, address, home telephone number, e-mail, and fax, if applicable.
  2. Job Goal. Indicate the type of job you are seeking.
  3. Education. Include all educational experience on your resume including:
    • Degrees
    • Time spent in college without earning a degree
    • Lists of classes, workshops, or seminars that would be applicable to the job you are seeking
    • Scholarships and awards
    • Trade school programs
    • Licenses and certifications.
    (Always indicate dates when degrees, certifications, licenses, scholarships, awards were obtained.) If you provide us with the basic information, we will craft the language appropriately.
  4. Special Skills/Qualifications. List all skills that you have acquired from previous work experience or schooling, especially if applicable to the type of job you are seeking. Be as specific as possible, including things such as specific computer programs you have used, typical machinery you have experience operating, and management and people-oriented skills.
  5. Work Experience. All work experience must include:
    • Job title
    • Name of business
    • City and state where you performed work for that business
    • Dates of employment (include only month and year)
    • Duties performed. Be as specific as possible. Make a complete list of the tasks you performed, including minor ones. Indicate all areas of responsibility.
    • Specific accomplishments you brought to your position (optional). These can include increased productivity, increased sales, increased revenue for the company, creating effective management systems, increased efficiency. Be specific. It is better to say, "increased productivity by 15%," rather than a more general statement.

    All you have to do is provide us with the information, let us worry about the phrasing.

  6. Professional and Civic Affiliations. List:
    • The name of any clubs and organizations you volunteer with
    • Dates you've been associated with the group
    • Title, if any
  7. References. No less than two professional and two personal are recommended. References must include:
    • Name
    • Title
    • Company
    • Complete address
    • Telephone
  8. Cover Letter and Thank You Letter. Indicate whether you would like a cover letter or thank you letter custom written or choose one of our resume packages. General letters can be written from the information you supply and then used for multiple job applications by changing addresses and job titles
